La situazione dell’informazione italiana, a partire dal servizio pubblico Rai e fino alle norme che imbavagliare la stampa, dalla cosiddetta “legge Cartabia ” al Ddl Nordio, sono state portate lunedì 29 gennaio sul tavolo dello Steering Commitee della Efj (European Federation of Journalists) da Anna Del Freo, vicepresidente Alg, membro di Giunta Fnsi e componente dello stesso Steering Commitee Efj.
Anna Del Freo ha ribadito al board del sindacato europeo tutte le preoccupazioni già espresse da Fnsi e Alg in molte occasioni: la lottizzazione del servizio televisivo pubblico con una sovraesposizione sempre crescente di politici che fanno parte dell”attuale Governo, il disegno di legge Nordio che prevede il divieto di pubblicare le ordinanze di custodia cautelare, cioè il documento più importante di ogni inchiesta giudiziaria. E ancora, la cosiddetta Legge Cartabia, varata dal Governo Draghi, secondo il sindacato italiano lesiva della libertà di stampa col pretesto della presunzione di innocenza.
Anna Del Freo ha ricordato l’impegno della Federazione nazionale della Stampa Italiana e dell’Associazione lombarda giornalisti nel battersi perché venga garantita una informazione libera. Il sindacato italiano ha organizzato numerose manifestazioni e la Segretaria generale Alessandra Costante ha di recente rilasciato un’intervista su questi temi a Repubblica, giornale fra l’altro criticato dalla premier per la sua linea editoriale non favorevole al Governo.
L’intero Steering Commitee, a partire dalla presidente della Federazione europea, Maja Sever, e il segretario generale Efj, Ricardo Gutiérrez, si sono detti preoccupati per la situazione italiana e hanno assicurato che l’attenzione della Federazione europea dei giornalisti nei confronti dell’Italia resterà alta.
